SPEC HISTORY
Family-owned and operated since 1973, Stevenson & Associates was founded in Kansas City, Missouri by Mel Stevenson with a mission to provide the highest quality building materials at competitive prices. The company began doing business as a manufacturer of roofing asphalt heating equipment. The SPEC division was started in 1975 to sell the products made by the manufacturing company. In the third year of business, SPEC began to sell equipment products to roofing contractors that were manufactured by other manufacturers. The SPEC Company Inc. in 1985 and became a separate entity. Since then, the SPEC team stands firm behind their mission to provide lasting value, quality products and extraordinary customer service. The SPEC name is on all our products, but more importantly, the SPEC associates are dedicated to a commitment of hard work, integrity and respect; which is our way of thanking every customer for their trust and their loyalty. The Stevenson family bears responsibility for the future of this business and the well-being of its nearly 650 trained associates in 12 states. It’s a responsibility to which they’ve gladly devoted their lives.
