Single ply is a lightweight, flexible membrane consisting of a single layer of synthetic material, such as TPO (thermoplastic polyolefin), PVC (polyvinyl chloride), or EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer). These membranes are either mechanically fastened, fully adhered, or ballasted to the roof deck, providing a durable, waterproof barrier. Single-ply roofing is valued for its ease of installation, energy efficiency, and resistance to UV radiation, chemicals, and weathering.
