Position Description

The Tapered Design Specialist is responsible for providing tapered insulation designs and takeoffs from architectural roof plans for commercial and residential low-slope applications. This exciting role requires an individual who is team-oriented and has strong customer service skills, often assisting the sales team with design solutions for customers in challenging situations, and providing professional and technical support.

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate insulation material quotation for roofing contractors
  • Generate professional CAD-based shop drawing for submittals and installation
  • Service support for technical services team and territory sales managers
  • Participate in team meeting and projects; engage in team discussions
  • Build strategic working relationships with the roofing contractors and vendors

Position Requirements

  • Self-starter, strong time management and attention to detail, team-oriented
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
  • Strong ability to work independently
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and specifications
  • Knowledge of Taper-Plus software
  • Intermediate-level Microsoft/Google applications
  • Technical and professional knowledge of the roofing industry and roof application
  • Knowledge and proficiency of AutoCAD
